Give It Up Michael Mansfield – The Grift Is Up! #WhoKilledJillDando? (Part 10)

Lone Gunman

During Part 3 of Who Killed Jill Dando? (at around 18:47) Michael Mansfield stated;

It cannot have been a lone gunman

Michael Mansfield

That’s exactly what and who it was!

The ill man, the loner

The infatuated

The psychopath

The disturbed

The obsessed

Barry George fit that category

Hamish Campbell

Michael Mansfield then went on to state;

He’d have to have had the loaded gun on him ready to fire

And be crouched in the front garden

So that she didn’t see that he was there

Well he’d have to be there for hours

Doesn’t add up

Michael Mansfield

Evidence demonstrated that it did add up;

Jonathan Laidlaw QC, prosecuting, said Dando’s death had been the result of the actions of “a loner, a man acting alone with no rational motive to kill”.

He said George, 48, had a history of complex medical problems and had told police he had a “personality disorder”.

Laidlaw told the jury the defendant would approach women and try to find out where they lived and what type of car they drove.

“Some of the witnesses provide evidence that Barry George, having discovered where they lived, also spent time waiting in the area and observing their addresses; on occasions, that he was present outside watching when they arrived back at their homes.”

Excerpts by Haroon Siddique for the Guardian article headed Barry George trial: Lone stalker killed Jill Dando, court told dated 9th June 2008

Eyewitness Susan Mayes

Susan Mayes picked killer Barry George out during a video identity parade.

A media article from June 2008 read;

Susan Mayes

The man accused of Jill Dando’s murder was seen ‘staring’ at her home just hours before she was shot dead on her doorstep, a court heard yesterday.

A neighbour of the BBC presenter told the Old Bailey she saw Barry George looking at the house that morning.

City trader Susan Mayes picked out George, 48, in a video ID parade 18 months later. ‘I saw the defendant,’ she told jurors yesterday. ‘I was certain that was the person I had seen.’

She said that when George realised she was watching him, he looked at the ground and tried to hide his face.

Miss Mayes was going to work around 7am on April 26 1999 when she spotted a ‘scruffy’ man on the opposite side of Gowan Avenue.

‘I saw the defendant,’ she told the court. ‘He was standing on the north side of the road next to a car that was double parked.’

She went on: ‘When I first noticed him he was staring at the houses on the left hand side of the road. I recall he was looking at the houses either side of him.

‘I remember him turning round to look at the houses on my side of the road.

‘As I got nearer to him he started cleaning his windscreen in a strange way. He was looking at the ground.’

She showed how he covered his face with his arm, and was not looking at what he was cleaning, nor using a cloth.

‘I thought this man doesn’t want to be seen. I thought it was odd.

‘As I drew up alongside him I was looking at him and carried on looking at him for a few seconds afterwards.’

Miss Mayes said the man was around 5ft 10in tall, stocky, of ‘Mediterranean’ appearance, with shoulder length black or dark brown hair.

She said he wore a dark suit, white shirt with an open neck and no tie. ‘I got the impression he was quite scruffy.’

Miss Mayes picked George out of an identity parade in October 2000.

This is George’s second trial for the murder. The prosecution alleges George was a loner who had obsessions with celebrities and guns, and a grudge against the BBC.

Excerpts by Fiona Barton for the DailyMail article headed Dando accused was ‘acting suspiciously outside her house hours before she was killed dated 17th June 2008

An Injustice In The Making

Michael Mansfield then stated during Who Killed Jill Dando? (at around 19:21);

I realised that this was an injustice in the making

Ain’t that the truth!

Who Did Fantasist Michelle Diskin Bates, Sister Of Killer Barry George, Think She Was Kidding With Her “We’re Just An Ordinary Family” Statement On Who Killed Jill Dando? (Part 8)

Michelle Diskin Bates

Bizarre Statement or Freudian Slip

During Part 3 of Who Killed Jill Dando? (at around 7:32) Michelle Diskin Bates stated

I took great heart from the fact that nobody knew that his surname was George

Michelle Diskin Bates

Michelle Diskin Bates was not known by the surname George in 2000.

She was married by this point and went by the name of Michelle Diskin.

Why did she choose to make this statement or was it another of her Freudian slips?

Impression Management

Michelle Diskin Bates then went on to state;

We’re just an ordinary family

These things don’t happen to ordinary people

Michelle Diskin Bates

Scammer Sandra Lean used the word “ordinary” more than once in an attempt at impression management, during her performance in channel 5’s Murder In A Small Town TV show.

Reality Appeared Extraordinary

In reality Michelle Diskin Bates had rarely seen her brother since 1973.

Barry George lived in London, England whilst Michelle Diskin Bates lived in Ireland, after moving there in 1973.

A media article from 2001 stated;

Ms Diskin said she hadn’t seen her brother much over the 20 years they were apart

Excerpt by Nicola Tallent article headed MY ‘BOYCHILD’ BROTHER DIDN’T MURDER DANDO; Sister’s support for killer George dated 2001

In August 2002, Michelle claimed here her brother had visited Ireland on holiday when he was 14 years-old.

Then in October 2018, Michelle Diskin Bates had stated that she had allegedly visited her brother in prison after he had raped a woman;

In 1983, he was convicted of an attempted rape and was imprisoned for eighteen months, serving both sentences consecutively.

I visited him in prison during this period, but it was not a comfortable time for Barry.

Excerpts by Michelle Diskin Bates from her book Stand Against Injustice published in October 2018

Barry George had raped a woman but he pleaded guilty to “attempted” rape.

Michelle Diskin Bates also stated she had visited her mother Margaret Bourke in 1988 and had allegedly met up with her brother on this occasion;

Having moved to Ireland, it was rare for me to travel back to London.

Fares were prohibitive, especially if you were travelling with children, so the next time I recall meeting up with Barry was in 1988 when I brought my two children to stay with Mum in London.

Sadly, Barry and I lost touch after this

Excerpts by Michelle Diskin Bates from her book Stand Against Injustice published in October 2018

Therefore if Michelle Diskin Bates had visited her brother in prison as she claimed, she had only seen him three other times in 27 years and lost touch with him completely by 1988.

Psychiatric Facility

Some months before her brother committed his murder of Jill Dando, Michelle Diskin Bates claimed she had “signed” herself into a psychiatric facility.

This apparently occurred because her life had allegedly become “humdrum, tedious and unfulfilling” as a wife and mother of three children.

Michelle Diskin Bates stated of this time;

Life became humdrum, tedious and unfulfilling.

I was a mental wreck, psychologically impaired.

I’d signed myself into the psychiatric ward a few weeks ago when I felt like my mind was imploding.

The young doctor who’d interviewed me to assess my condition had asked, “Michelle, are you suicidal?”

Struggling up through the pain and fog, I thought for a moment before I answered, “No, but if I go home, I will die!”

Excerpts from Michelle Diskin Bates book Stand Against Injustice published in October 2018

These life events sound extraordinary as opposed to “ordinary”.

Why did Michelle Diskin Bates choose to pretend her family was “ordinary”?

How many “ordinary” families live like Barry George did, with his faeces all over his home – including on his bed?!

Furthermore Michelle Diskin Bates younger sister Susan Towler (nee George) had died in April 1986 during the early stages of pregnancy.

Michelle did not see her sister either!

It’s No Mystery Who Killed Jill Dando! (Part 5)

Assassin Barry George

On the 26th of April 1999 Jill Dando (37) was murdered by sexual predator, serial stalker, rapist and assassin Barry George.

Barry George shot Jill Dando whilst she was on the doorstep of her home in Gowan avenue Fulham, which is in Southwest London.

A jury found Barry George guilty of his murder on the 2nd July 2001.

Murderer Barry George

Not long after Barry George was found guilty, he confessed to his murder in 2002.

In the same year he confessed to his murder, Barry George appealed his conviction but his appeal was dismissed.

However on the 20th June 2007 the fraudsters at the criminal cases review commission referred Barry George’s murder conviction to the court of appeal.

The court of appeal went on to deem Barry George’s murder conviction “unsafe” and ordered a re-trial.

On the 9th June 2008 he stood trial for a second time and on the 1st August 2008 Barry George was found not guilty.

A not guilty verdict does not equate to actual, factual innocence.

Less than two years after they referred killer Barry George’s murder conviction to the court of appeal, the fraudsters at the criminal cases review commission referred the murder conviction of killer Simon Hall.

The Truth Behind Actual, Factual, Guilty Killer Simon Hall & His & His Deceitful Enablers Innocence Fraud Phenomenon Scam blog series goes into some of the facts of this innocence fraud.

Michael Mansfield

Michael Mansfield

Michael Mansfield, who first represented killer Barry George during his appeal also represented killer Simon Hall.

Fibre evidence, which was one of the factors which helped convict killer Simon Hall, still links Barry George to his murder.

Gun shot residue matching the gunshot residue found at Barry George’s crime scene also still links him to his murder.

Michael Naughton

Michael Naughton, who campaigned for and represented killer Simon Hall when their innocence fraud was exposed in 2012/13, went on to write the foreword of killer Barry George’s sister’s book.

Michelle Diskin Bates

Assassin Barry George & his sister Michelle Diskin Bates

Michelle Diskin Bates, who appears to be a deluded fantasist similar to her killer brother, has gone on to align herself with numerous other dangerous murderers, including mass murderer, child killer and rapist Jeremy Bamber.

In August 2016 liar and fantasist Michelle Diskin Bates made the claim she was watching nighttime TV back in August 1985 – even though nighttime TV did not exist in the UK until 1986.

Michelle Diskin Bates stated here;

It was well after midnight on August 6th 1985 and I couldn’t sleep. Switching on the T.V., I absent-mindedly tuned into a news channel. We were living in Co. Cork, in Southern Ireland, and I was joyfully awaiting the birth of our first child who was already overdue, making me feel restless; that was why I was up and about at such an hour.

Becoming aware of a breaking-news story I began to listen in more closely. A siege was taking place at a farmhouse in England. The broadcaster relayed that five people were inside and there was great fear for their safety. As the story unfolded it became apparent that this was an older couple. A farmer and retired Magistrate, Nevill Bamber and his wife, June; their daughter, Sheila, and her six year old twin sons. Jeremy, their son, was outside with police who were trying to communicate with someone inside the house who had been seen pacing back and forth in front of an upstairs window and carrying a firearm. The reporter said that police were reluctant to get too close to the house for fear of causing that person to become more agitated, thereby, escalating the danger to the family. I watched for an hour or so but there was no resolution and, heavily pregnant, I became exhausted and had to go off to bed

Michelle Diskin Bates

When Barry George was released from custody, following his 2008 re-trial, he was placed under MAPPA (multi-agency public protection arrangements) restrictions due to his dangerousness, especially towards women.

Killer Simon Hall: Michael Naughton, 2005, Bristol University Innocence Project, Innocence Network UK, Barry Scheck, Peter Neufeld, Stephanie Bon, Killers Barry George & Michael Stone, Mike Burke/Bourke & “Justice for Barry”, The Illusory Truth Effect, Coercive Persuasion, Gaslighting & Murder Confessions – Part 17g©️

Michael Naughton & Bristol University Innocence Project

Michael Naughton who is referred to in previous Parts of this blog series and who is also mentioned on page 11 of the criminal cases review commissions statement of reasons here (Under the title of UoBIP = university of Bristol innocence project), works at Bristol university and he became involved with actual, factual guilty killer Simon Hall’s innocence fraud spin campaign early on.

Michael Naughtin’s online bio here reads in part;

…his work, which specialises on the problem of ‘miscarriages of justice’, with a particular focus on the wrongful conviction and/or imprisonment of factually innocent victims.

Michael Naughton decided to start an innocence project in 2004 the year after he had submitted his PhD thesis, which he chose to call Miscarriages of justice : exception to the rule?

The innocence project, referred to by some people as the innocence ‘fraudject’ due to the high number of guilty killers and rapists it helps free from prison, was based on the American version of the innocence project, co-founded by American lawyers Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld in 1992.

Stephanie Bon

It is not known exactly when Stephanie Bon first made contact with Michael Naughton and if Stephanie, or manipulative killer Simon Hall, wrote to Michael after hearing about the launch of Bristol university’s innocence project.

However a 2005 media story indicated Michael Naughton had been contacted by many killers, including the killer of Jill Dando; serial stalker, rapist and predatory sex offender Barry George, as well as “the family” of sadistic serial killer and psychopath Michael Stone.

Both killers were referred to in Part 17d, which can be read by tapping on the button below;

2005

Excerpts from the 2005 media story which centred on Michael Naughton and his “frustrations” with the criminal cases review commission (Referred to in Part 15 here) read;

The shelf above Mike Naughton’s desk in Bristol University’s law school is heaving with files of letters from prisoners who claim they were wrongly convicted and want help.

“It shows just how desperate so many people are”

says Naughton, a lecturer in criminal law.

“They have got nobody else to turn to so they are prepared to put their futures in the hands of a project led by university students. It really is quite disturbing”

Naughton’s office has become the bustling nerve centre of the University of Bristol’s Innocence Project which aims to provide free assistance to the victims of miscarriages of justice languishing in prison.

Students have been giving up their free time to sort through the mountain of correspondence.

“They should be out drinking or chasing the opposite sex but they are here getting stuck in” says Naughton

Barry George, the man convicted of killing the television presenter Jill Dando, has written to the project.

Naughton has also had contact with the family of Michael Stone, who has twice been convicted of murdering Lin and Megan Russell and whose latest appeal failed in January.

Many other notorious figures – Naughton will not name names – have been in touch.

Over the coming months and years undergraduates will work with local criminal lawyers, who are giving their time for free, on five cases which they believe stand a chance of being referred to the appeal court.

Naughton hopes that the six-month-old Bristol project will be the first of many to be launched at universities across the UK to create an “innocence network” of students working to free prisoners they believe have been wrongly convicted.

“It’s still very early days but we think there is a gap in the present system which needs to be filled”, he says.

Innocence projects are active in the US, Canada and Australia.

The best known was co-founded in 1992 by Barry Scheck, one of the lawyers who represented OJ Simpson at his trial.

Excerpts by Steven Morris for the Guardian from his article headed Students to the rescue dated the 14th July 2005

Jill Dando’s Killer Barry George & His Confession To His Murder

Like killers Simon Hall and Michael Stone, Barry George used numerous aliases, including the alias Barry Bulsara.

Killer Simon Hall had used the name James Shiperlee, which was noted on his prison files;

Screenshot of Simon Hall’s HMP Wayland prison ’patient’ records

Like killer Simon Hall, killer Barry George was reported to have gone on to admit to his guilt to his murder of Jill Dando, as was reported here and here.

Also like killer Simon Hall’s immediate family members (Lynne, Phil and Shaun Hall) and others, killer Barry George’s uncle Mike Burke and his sister Michelle Diskin Bates chose to deny killer Barry George’s murderous crime and instead made excuses for him, his personality and his behaviours.

Excerpt’s from a 2002 Mirror newspaper story here reported some of killer Barry George’s uncle Mike Burke’s excuses;

Mike Burke (left) photographed alongside fraudster and con artist Surjit Singh Clair

Uncle Mike Bourke (sic) said:

“He was warned people might try and tape his conversations or put words into his mouth.

“I just don’t think Barry would say anything like this. It is complete fiction. He has been on his guard.”

Mike, of Co Limerick, Ireland, added:

“He has been a bit depressed lately because he knows a lot hinges on it. But he has done nothing to make his family doubt he is innocent”

However Mike Burke stated in the book he went on to write and publish;

On Sunday April 7th I heard on BBC Radio 4 news that the News of the World had a cassette tape of Barry allegedly confessing to the murder.

I bought the paper and read the story which I found difficult to believe.

It alleged that Barry said to other prisoners

’…because I was the man who committed the murder’.

I phoned the number given and listened to the tape recording which sounded like Barry though the sound quality was very poor.

I had warned him that something like that could happen.

The source of the tape was a by then deported Polish thief who claimed he used his tape recorder to record fellow prisoners’ music

Excerpt by Mike Burke from his book Mike’s Story: Barry George & the Jill Dando murder;

Mike Burke headed up the fraudulent public relations spin campaign to free his murdering, serial stalker and predatory rapist nephew Barry George.

However Mike Burke did state in his book he harboured doubts about his nephew’s behaviour, evidenced by his following statement;

I was again concerned he was trying to threaten me.

This type of behaviour undermined my belief in him

Exceprt from Mike Burke’s book Mike’s Story: Barry George & the Jill Dando murder

2002: Michelle Diskin

In 2002 a Scottish organisation, which was set up by one* of the six IRA terrorists who was convicted for the murders of twenty one people, and injuring 182 people, following two pub bombings, published Barry George’s sister Michelle Diskin’s excuse for her killer brother Barry George having admitted to his murder of Jill Dando.

A screenshot of Michelle Diskin’s published excuse is reproduced below;

Screenshot of ‘Justice for Barry George’ propaganda (The original can be found here)

*Three of the six men who were convicted of the 1974 Birmingham pub bombings admitted to being members of the IRA and also admitted to having planted the bombs.
In 1987 all six men had their murder convictions deemed “unsafe and unsatisfactory” by the court of appeal, but to date all six men have been unsuccessful in proving their innocence.

Similarly to killers Simon Hall and Michael Stone, Mike Burke wrote about a suicide attempt his nephew Barry George had made a couple of months after he was found guilty for his murder of Jill Dando.

On the 16th of September 2001 there was a story published in the Mail on Sunday, and according to Mike Burke here, a prisoner by the name of Daniel Reece had saved killer Barry George from an “alleged hanging attempt”.
