Neil MacKay, pictured above, who was referred to in Part 261 of this ongoing blog series (which can be read by tapping on the button below) referred to killer Luke Mitchell in 2021 as a “Satan-worshipping, scary, gothic character”.
As previously stated in Part 261 of this ongoing blog series, Neil MacKay claimed in 2021 that he “visited” killer Luke Mitchell in “jail”.
When exactly did this alleged “jail” visit take place and if Neil MacKay did visit with killer Luke Mitchell why didn’t he report on this visit?

On the 21st July 2023 Suzy Hall tweeted a quote from crime reporter Jane Hamilton.
Jane Hamilton stated in 2021;
there were no secret briefings about (Luke) Mitchell to the media

Maybe Suzy Hall should ask Neil MacKay to provide the name of this alleged “senior police officer” who allegedly rang him to allegedly have a conversation about a 14/15 year old murder suspects “love of gothic music and his alternative lifestyle”.

Rather than answer the questions, Neil MacKay chose to block Innocence Fraud Watch – which in itself was extremely telling.
In 2007 scammer Sandra Lean made comparisons to guilty killers John Taft and Simon Hall’s cases to that of guilty killer Luke Mitchell.
Sandra Lean stated;
Like Simon Hall and John Taft, a central aspect to the case involves a piece of clothing claimed to have belonged to the defendant, but that claim is never, at any point, backed up by proof.
Also, as with Simon Hall, the lack of a definitive time of death allows a presumption to be presented almost as fact – neither Luke nor Simon had a cast iron alibi at a specific time, therefore the prosecution presumes that to be the time of death.
Failure of forensic experts to attend the scene in a timely manner allowed evidence to be lost in both of these cases.
Finally, as with Derek Christian and Simon Hall, we are asked to believe that Luke Mitchell suddenly and inexplicably “flipped,” behaving in a manner which is completely uncharacteristic, then almost instantly returns to normal.

Abusive troll Heather Brunt recently published a copy of a photograph of her latest target – an innocent man called James Falconer.
Roddy McKendry and Suzy Hall chose to comment underneath with their own deluded nonsense.
As much as these people say the worst thing ever is “accusing an innocent person”, they choose to do it anyway – as is evidenced below;
A February 2008 media article here stated that a “used condom was found 50 metres from the spot where Jodi was killed”.
Another article here stated;
As for Falconer, the defence say a recently used condom was found 50 metres from the murder scene.
DNA swabs matched a sample taken from Falconer two months ago.
The defence papers declare:
“His explanation given to police for semen in a condom lacked credibility and aspects of his statement have proven to be false.
Common sense would again surely suggest that innocent James Falconer may have met up with someone back in June 2003 and had “safe sex” by choosing to use a condom.
It is not known if James Falconer wrote his own witness statement or if a police officer wrote it for him.
However what is known is that James Falconer was ruled out of the investigation and his name was dropped from the 2008 appeal.
Innocent James Falconer had nothing whatsoever to do with killer Luke Mitchell’s murderous crimes.
During Part 1 of the 2021 channel 5 TV innocence fraud show entitled Murder In A Small Town killer Luke Mitchell’s mother Corinne Mitchell stated;
I sprinted up to the police station
Eh asked where my child and my dog were
I was shown into a room
And the sight was just horrendous
Luke was sitting in ah white forensic suit
He had been stripped naked
Corinne Mitchell (At approx 25:06)
However the 2008 court of appeal judgement had previously described a different version of events.
The appeal court judges indicated in their written judgement that killer Luke Mitchell did not give his permission for his clothing to be taken until after he had concluded his 22 page written witness statement.

I kept trying to phone him as he was late and in trouble.
He would not answer and then he finally phoned and said
‘I can’t talk, I have to go’
He phoned back again and when I asked what happened he said
‘I can’t tell you’
I heard a man’s voice in the background and Luke said it was a policeman and I asked to speak to him

Neil MacKay, who chose to appear in the 2021 channel 5 two part TV innocence fraud show titled Murder In A Small Town, stated at the time sadistic killer Luke Mitchell chose to commit his murder of Jodi Jones🌻 “there was a moral panic around teenagers listening to music their parents found disagreeable”.
It is not known if Corinne Mitchell was aware of this alleged “moral panic” at the time her youngest son Luke Mitchell chose to commit his murder, however Neil MacKay also stated;
As a reporter, I later visited (Luke) Mitchell in jail, and spoke with his mother
It is also not known when exactly Neil MacKay visited with sadistic killer Luke Mitchell.
However what is known is that in order for Neil MacKay to visit with killer Luke Mitchell he would have required “special permission” to do so.
Killer Luke Mitchell would have also been required to put in an application to his prison Governor to obtain permission for a visit with Neil MacKay.
It is also not known when exactly Neil MacKay spoke with Corinne Mitchell and what exactly the killer and his mother Corinne spoke to Neil MacKay about.
Neil Mackay stated in his February 2021 article for the Herald that he was “a reporter” at the time killer Luke Mitchell committed his murder.
According to a bio on Neil MacKay here it states that he was “originally from Antrim, in Northern Ireland” and “worked in Belfast before moving to Glasgow in 1996”.
Neil MacKay stated;
I was investigations editor with the Herald newspapers at the time of the Jodi Jones murder, and I appear as a interviewee in the documentary Murder In A Small Town.

What articles did Neil MacKay write and have published in 2003, 2004 and 2005, if any and why would a “senior police officer” linked to the investigation allegedly contact Neil MacKay, a random reporter in Glasgow about sadistic killer Luke Mitchell?

On the 26th November 2004 Judith Jones was called to give evidence during her daughter Jodi Jones🌻 murderers trial.
However the Herald did not publish Judith Jones’ evidence heard on the 26th November 2004, until the following day.
On the 27th November 2004 the Herald published the following excerpts;
At 10.20pm, she texted a message to Mr Mitchell’s phone, because Jodi’s was broken:
”Right Toad (Jodi’s nickname), that’s you grounded for another three weeks” it said.
A minute later, Mr Mitchell called back.
Mrs Jones said:
”He said he hadn’t seen Jodi all night. I said:
What do you mean you haven’t seen her?
She was with you?’
If I recollect, I just put the phone down. There was something really wrong”
She called Mr Mitchell back and told him:
“I just want the truth.
If she is with you, I don’t care.
I just want to know.
He said: I haven’t seen her”
Mrs Jones began phoning friends and later she called the police. Jodi’s body was found later that night.

Then almost one month after Judith Jones gave her evidence, detective constable (Dc) Alan Towers was called to give evidence in regards to the killers evidence.
Almost a month after the jury were told Judith Jones texted killer Luke Mitchell at 10:20pm the Herald published the following excerpts;
Detective Constable Alan Towers, 43, said that Mr Mitchell wrote a statement which ran to 22 pages.
A text message to his mobile from Jodi’s mother at 10.41pm the previous night first alerted him to the fact that something was wrong, he said.
The jury heard how Mr Mitchell then met Jodi’s grandmother, sister and the sister’s boyfriend, and continued searching along the wooded Roan’s Dyke path in Dalkeith, Midlothian. “They were panicky, ” he told Mr Towers
The statement, read in court by the detective, continued:
“We walked past the V-shaped break in the wall and a few yards past that, not even 20 yards past that..

Why did the Herald go from reporting Judith Jones text message as being sent at 10:20pm on the 27th November 2004 to then adding almost 21 minutes to this time, almost a month later?

Sandra Lean would have known that the moment she published any material online, regardless of whether she removed it at a later date, she could and would still be “wide open to allegations of dishonesty and even legal challenge”.
Sandra Lean is without any doubts dishonest, especially when it comes to the timings and the timeline in this case.
In May 2007, when Sandra Lean published her first discredited book No Smoke (Tap on button below to read more), much of what Sandra wrote appears to have been taken from the misinformation printed by the main stream media, along with some of killer Luke Mitchell and his mother Corinne Mitchell’s “outright lies” and the misinformation contained within the court of appeal judgement.

Some of the tiniest details led to some of the most critical developments in the case, because no-one had picked up on, or corrected, errors in those early findings

Yet it is precisely the detail included here that shakes the very foundation on which the case against Luke was the period between the discovery that Jodi was missing and the finding of her body – who was where, doing what, when and with whom, should have been crucial to the investigation.

Sandra Lean’s statement of the “importance of attention to detail” does not appear to apply to Sandra or killer Luke Mitchell and his mother Corinne Mitchell.
If “attention to detail” were genuinely important to Sandra Lean she would have surely explained how and why she changed her timings and details so many times over the years.
For example at 9:00pm in Sandra Lean’s Jigsawman timeline she stated;
After hanging around the abbey for a couple of hours, the boys head for home. Luke goes up to his room and puts on a video of Red dwarf
Yet by the time Sandra Lean self published her 2nd innocence fraud book in October 2018, there was no mention of killer Luke Mitchell putting “on a video of Red dwarf” at 9:00pm
Was the reason for Sandra Lean omitting this “detail” because she realised this was another of killer Luke Mitchell’s bare faced lies?
In Sandra Lean’s 2007 book No Smoke she opted to not mention Judith Jones 10:20pm text message to killer Luke Mitchell’s phone, instead Sandra stated;
The alarm was raised when Jodi failed to return home at her curfew time of 10pm.
Jodi‟s mother Judy contacted Luke (because Jodi‟s mobile was broken) to be told that he had not seen Jodi that evening.

However by the time Sandra Lean had cobbled together her Jigsawman timeline she had changed Judith Jones evidence given during the trial.
Judith Jones’ text message to killer Luke Mitchell’s went from 10:20pm to 10:39pm.
Sandra Lean had added on 19 minutes.
Not only did Sandra Lean add on 19 minutes to the time of this text message she also reduced Judith Jones’s two weeks of grounding to one week, as can be seen in the following excerpt;
10:39pm Judy sends a text to Lukes phone, Right Toad, say goodnight to Luke. Thats you grounded for another week

In 2010 Sandra Lean changed her 10:39pm time to 10:38pm, losing a minute;
Whatever happened in the intervening period, Mrs Jones sent a text to Luke’s phone at 10:38 that night, addressed to Jodi, saying “Right toad (her nickname for Jodi) say night to Luke, that’s you grounded for another week

However by 2017 Sandra Lean was claiming here that Judith Jones sent her text message between 10:20pm and 10:30pm;
Here are the known facts – Luke returned home at 9.30pm (based on testimony from the other boys he was hanging around with that night.) He took Mia out for her last walk at around 10.20 – 10.30 – it was during this walk that he received JuJ’s text intended for Jodi.
Sandra Lean – 16th February 2017
Sandra Lean must have realised at some point that killer Luke Mitchell could not have been watching “a video on Red Dwarf” at 9:00pm and that he had lied about the time he arrived home.
By the time Sandra Lean self published her 2nd innocence fraud book in 2018, she finally acknowledged the fact Judith Jones had said she had sent killer Luke Mitchell a text at “10:15pm or 10:20pm”, as can be seen in the following excerpts;
The initial text message, sent from Judith’s mobile to Luke’s, intended for Jodi – “Right Toad, 2 weeks grounding, say bye to Luke,” was the first point at which anyone knew something was wrong on the evening of June 30th.
Judith believed, as late as July 31st, a full month after the murder, that this text was sent at 10.15pm or 10.20pm

Although Sandra Lean chose to add the dishonest nonsense of “twenty to twenty-five minutes before it actually was” at the end of her (above) latter statement.
In reality – common sense would suggest when Jodi Jones🌻 did not arrive home by her curfew time of 10pm, Judith Jones would have started to become anxious from this point in time.
In fact Sandra Lean stated;
Judith insisted she was “clock watching” from 10.00pm, when Jodi should have come home

There is no evidence anywhere to suggest Judith Jones waited around 40 minutes to text killer Luke Mitchell’s mobile phone to tell her daughter Jodi Jones🌻 to “say bye to Luke”.
All the evidence when viewed in its entirety points to Judith Jones text message having been sent no later than 10:20pm.
Especially given the fact Jodi Jones🌻 was reported missing to the police at 10:45pm.
Sandra Lean appeared to be flummoxed by this fact and even exclaimed in her 2nd book “Something is very wrong here”.
For context here is some of what Sandra Lean stated;
..it is important to point out that there was a call in the police logs, noting the missing person details – I refer to this as the ‘first (unidentified) call’ for reasons which will become obvious.
The information about this call was found in the defence papers almost six years after Luke’s conviction.
Three separate legal teams had access to the files in that period – none of them brought this information to the attention of Luke, his family, his supporters or any court.
The police log of this call noted details of Judith’s name, Alice’s name (including her maiden name) and the information that Jodi was missing; she had not been with her boyfriend and was not at her Gran’s, all given to the operator by the caller, who gave her identity as Judith.
The time of that call was 10:45pm.
Something is very wrong here.

What Sandra Lean means is that it took her “six years” to find the details of Judith Jones “missing person” telephone call to the police in the boxes of case files.
Sandra Lean did not attend Killer Luke Mitchell’s trial and did not have access to all the trial transcripts – in particular the trial transcripts of Judith Jones’ evidence.
Along with omitting killer Luke Mitchell and his mother Corinne Mitchell’s barefaced lie about the Red dwarf video from her second book, Sandra Lean also omitted the evidence of witnesses like Carol Ford.
Carol Ford is the mother of Kirsten Ford (Read more here) one of Jodi Jones🌻 friends who was also one of the people Judith Jones contacted after sending her 10:20pm text message.
Bizarrely Sandra Lean also wrote the following in her 2nd book;
22:40pm: When Luke called Judith and told her he hadn’t seen Jodi all evening, the call lasted just over two minutes (ending at 10:42:40) and was the call in which it was agreed by all parties that both Judith and Luke discovered that Jodi had been out of contact for almost six hours.

As usual Sandra Lean was being dishonest.
There is no evidence anywhere to support this 10:40pm telephone call (which allegedly “lasted just over two minutes”) was about it being “agreed” that it was at this time that it was “discovered that Jodi had been out of contact for almost six hours”.
The above is merely more evidence of Sandra Lean’s capability to embellish and lie.

He was supposed to have been near the woods where Jodi, 14, was murdered in June, 2003, to have been acting strangely in the days following and to have sustained unexplained injuries to his face.
Donald Findlay, QC, said that the drug addict, named only as Mark Kane, “ticked all the same boxes” as Mitchell.
The lawyer told appeal judges that Mitchell’s defence team had been made aware of the addict by another man, Scott Forbes, who had first come forward some 18 months after Mitchell had been convicted of Jodi’s murder and given a life sentence.
Mr Findlay said that Mr Forbes had sworn out a statement last month and his claims were being investigated.
But John Beckett, QC, for the Crown, revealed that police investigations cast doubt on what Mr Forbes had told solicitors – and a BBC Frontline Scotland programme in May last year.

Jodi Jones’ DNA was found on a pair of trousers belonging to Luke Mitchell. The trousers were in a holdall at his father’s house in Livingston, a home he hadn’t been to for at least a fortnight prior to the murder of Jodi. The evidence was, therefore, deemed irrelevant and agreed to be dismissed.

Killer Luke Mitchell’s trousers, which had Jodi Jones🌻 DNA on them, were hidden in a holdall in his home at Newbattle Abbey Crescent NOT his father Philip Mitchell’s house in Livingstone.
Corinne Mitchell also highlighted this fact well over a decade ago, when she posted on un-convicted baby killer Billy Middleton’s WAP website forum.

2. The defamatory words appears in a book being sold on the website entitled A Long Walk to Justice with ISBN number 1999617118. The defamatory content appears on page 56 of the book, on Amazon kindle.
3. The content that I consider to be defamatory is;
“As a teenager Joseph Jones found his father in the garden, who had committed suicide by hanging himself. It was reported that Joseph was never the same again, and that he partly blamed his sister for his fathers suicide. The night before Mr Jones hung himself, a nine year old Jodi walked into an “adult party” in the living room of her house. She ran out of the room grabbing a large bottle of vodka in protest. The following morning Joseph found his father in the garden.”
The defamatory content is unlawful because it is false and it is likely to cause ‘serious harm’ to the reputation of the people named.
Jodi Jones at the age of 9 years went on holiday with her gran Alice Walker, her aunt, uncle and cousins to Bulgaria. On her return Jodi Jones found out the devastating news her father was dead. He had taken his life whilst Jodi Jones was away from home. Jodi Jones mother made that horrific discovery in the garden the following morning.
7. I confirm that I do not have sufficient information about the person originally responsible for the content I am complaining about to enable me to bring proceedings against that person.
8. My complaint relates to defamatory content appearing in a book being sold on the website. I do not agree to my name and email address being provided by Amazon to the person originally responsible for the content I am complaining about.
9. I understand that this statement may be used in any court proceedings that may arise out of or relating to the defamatory content which I have complained about.
