Innocent Mark Kane Ruled Out By DNA
In an article dated 2nd December 2022 pushing the innocence fraud of guilty killer Luke Mitchell here, John Glover stated;
The legal team representing Mitchell – convicted of murdering his girlfriend when he was 14 – say that two copies of an essay by another teenager entitled ‘No Remorse’ that described killing a girl in the woods were never shown to the defence.
Police have been accused of concealing crucial evidence that could have cast doubt on the conviction of Luke Mitchell for murdering his girlfriend Jodi Jones.
Officers from Lothian and Borders Police are said to have hidden two copies of an essay written by a now-deceased local drug addict in Dalkeith, Midlothian, that described killing a girl in the woods.

Mark Kane, who passed away in May 2018, and who John Glover and the Scottish Express referred to as a ‘local drug addict’ was traced, eliminated and ruled out as a suspect.
Therefore any alleged essay (real or imagined) about ‘killing a girl in the woods’ was and is irrelevant and would have made no difference to killer Luke Mitchell’s trial for his murder.
Note: John Glover and the Scottish Express fails to provide any evidence of an alleged essay written about ‘killing a girl in the woods’.
Excerpts from a BBC article dated the 22nd of February 2008 headed Call to ‘ignore’ new Jodi suspect stated;
“Everything that was capable of DNA analysis was analysed pre-trial and the sample from Mark Kane was compared against all of these samples and no connection was found,” said Mr Beckett.
It also heard how Mr Kane had been pestered and threatened by another man who claimed a confession to the killing would bring them big rewards.
Mr Beckett quoted from a statement Mr Kane, from Stirling, had given to police about the activities of Scott Forbes – the man who put defence lawyers on Mr Kane’s trail.
Mr Kane told the officers that Mr Forbes had been pestering him for a week after press reports in December about a possible new suspect

Mark Kane was nothing like killer Luke Mitchell!
Mark Kane was about a foot taller than killer Luke Mitchell and was 8 years older.
Mark Kane’s hair, while being similar in colour, bore no resemblance to killer Luke Mitchell’s style of haircut.
Killer Luke Mitchell’s hair, as described by Andrina Bryson, was sandy, messy, shoulder-length and sticking up in a clump at the back like the character Shaggy from the 2002 Scooby Doo movie (Andrina Bryson was specific about Luke Mitchell’s hairstyle when describing it to police, and specifically compared it to the Shaggy character from that 2002 Scooby Doo movie).
Mark Kane’s hair was never shoulder-length.
It’s also worth mentioning that killer Luke Mitchell and Jodi Jones loved Nirvana (Nirvana was actually Jodi’s number one favourite band), whose lead singer, Kurt Cobain, had that shoulder-length, messy sandy hair. Luke Mitchell was obviously trying to emulate that Kurt Cobain image — an image that a lot of teenage girls loved and which Luke Mitchell pulled off successfully (and hence why he was so popular with the girls of his age at the time).

John Glover also stated in his 2nd of December 2022 article for the Scottish Express;
Lawyer Scott Forbes of Mitchell’s legal team told the Scottish Daily Express: “The police insider who gave me the destruction of evidence tip-off also showed me the essays. They went to the appeal court and police said no such essays existed. Just lies.
“The insider tells me: ‘Here is something for you special’ and written in police files was police production not given to the defence.
“It is marked essay from [X] it is titled ‘No Remorse’. It was found by the Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission in 2013 within the police production and it was in a brown envelope with the production number.
What was actually said about Mark Kane’s essay(s) was, that he wrote “no such essay” about “killing a girl in the woods” not that Mark Kane didn’t write essay(s).
