Motivations For Stalking
According to Stalkers And Their Victims (here) research by Paul E. Mullen, Michele Pathé and Rosemary Purcell say that the “resentful” stalkers stalking “is designed to inflict fear and distress”.
According to the public prosecution services for Northern Ireland website here, they state;
There are many reasons why a person may stalk another and there is no such thing as a ‘typical’ stalking perpetrator.
The ‘Stalking Risk Profile’ – developed by Mullan et al of Melbourne University – assists investigators and prosecutors in understanding stalking behaviour and risk. This profile divides stalkers into five types and considers the context in which the stalking arises and the stalker’s motivation for contacting the victim:
The Rejected Stalker – Rejected stalking arises in the context of the breakdown of a close relationship. Victims are usually former sexual intimates; however, family members, close friends, or others with a very close relationship to the stalker can also become targets of Rejected stalking
The Resentful stalker – Resentful stalking arises when the stalker feels as though they have been mistreated or that they are the victim of some form of injustice or humiliation. Victims are strangers or acquaintances who are seen to have mistreated the stalker.
The Intimacy Seeking stalker – Intimacy seeking stalking arises out of a context of loneliness and a lack of a close confidante. Victims are usually strangers or acquaintances who become the target of the stalker’s desire for a relationship. Frequently Intimacy Seeking stalkers’ behaviour involves delusional beliefs about the victim, such as the belief that they are already in a relationship, even though none exists.
The Incompetent Suitor – The Incompetent suitor stalks in the context of loneliness or lust and targets strangers or acquaintances. Unlike the Intimacy Seeker, however, their initial motivation is not to establish a loving relationship, but to get a date or a short term sexual relationship. Incompetent Suitors usually stalk for brief periods, but when they do persist, their behaviour is usually maintained by the fact that they are blind or indifferent to the distress of the victim.
The Predatory Stalker – Predatory stalking arises in the context of deviant sexual practices and interests. Perpetrators are usually male and victims are usually female strangers in whom the stalker develops a sexual interest. The stalking behaviour is usually initiated as a way of obtaining sexual gratification (e.g., voyeurism targeting a single victim over time), but can also be used as a way of obtaining information about the victim as a precursor to a sexual assault, the most dangerous leading to serious attack.

Do Not Trust Mis ”Leading Criminologists” Like David Wilson When It Comes To Sadistic Murderers Like Luke Mitchell (Part 318)
Failure To Address Innocence Fraud
In April 2023 David Wilson, described as a “leading criminologist” by mainstream media, stated via the Herald here;
I’ve never needed to be convinced that miscarriages of justice happen in Scotland.

David Wilson continues to fail to address the very real innocence fraud phenomenon, which Jodi Jones’ murderers public relations spin campaign most definitely is, and has been.
The next sentence in his 2023 article plugged a book he had written on another murderer called George Beattie, who murdered Margaret McLaughlin in Carluke, Lanarkshire on 6th July 1973.
Margaret McLaughlin was 23 years old when she found stabbed to death multiple times, in a woodland known locally as Colonel’s Glen, near to Carluke railway station.
George Beattie admitted his guilt to his murder.

David Wilson stated towards the end of his article;
The Scottish Criminal Justice System never seems keen to admit to its mistakes but, as I have always argued, a judicial system cannot call itself mature and civilised unless it’s prepared to hold its hands up and admit when it gets things wrong.

The above reads like David Wilson’s psychological projections.
Irresponsible Claims
David Wilson’s allegation that Jodi Jones’ “killer is still to be brought to justice” was (and still is) arrogant and extraordinarily offensive, especially to Jodi Jones’ loved ones and to all those people who brought Jodi Jones’ murderer to justice.
It was also an immensely irresponsible move on David Wilson’s part.
Many vulnerable individuals have been groomed and conned by Jodi Jones’ murderer and his chief enablers over the years.
The indoctrination and psychological manipulation experienced by these individuals will no doubt take them a long time to reverse (or deprogram) and recover from.
David Wilson failed to carry out his due diligence.
He also disingenuously attempted to give the public the impression he had read trial transcripts, stating “I have been able to: read transcripts from Luke’s trial…”.
Trial transcripts were not in the public domain in 2023, and the testimony of many of the witnesses who gave evidence during the murderers 2004/05 trial, have never been transcribed.
However, now that transcripts are finally being published, they tell a very different narrative to the one told over these past two decades by the murderer, his enablers and the mainstream media.

Why Didn’t The Media Ever Report On The Fact Murderer Luke Mitchell Had Stated The “Dancers“ In The Video He Watched Were “Dressed As Elizabeth Short”? (Part 317)
Elizabeth Short (22) was a native of Boston, who had spent her early life in New England and Florida.
In July 1946 she relocated to California, where her father lived.
She stayed in a rented room behind the Florentine Gardens nightclub on Hollywood Boulevard, and worked as a waitress whilst apparently looking for acting roles.
However there is “no record of her having played so much as a bit part”.
Elizabeth Short’s body was found on 15th January 1947 by a woman called Betty Bersinger, who initially thought it was a mannequin.
The media went on to refer to Elizabeth Short as the “Black Dhalia”, a spin on the 1946 crime film the “Blue Dahlia”.

The LAPD identified Elizabeth Short by her fingerprints, and an autopsy was performed on Short’s body on January 16, 1947.
Marks on her body suggested the woman had been bound and tortured, and her official cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage and shock.

The following extracts have been copied directly from Corinne Mitchell’s trial testimony in which Elizabeth Short was referred to. Advocate depute Alan Turnbull was telling the jury about the murderers psyche report (from page 2457 of day 2);

You’ll see there that Luke is discussing with Dr Campbell is the fact that he had a Marilyn Manson DVD which the police took away

- Alan Turnbull: And that was the one which was bought on the Wednesday after Jodi’s killing?
- Corinne Mitchell: Yes
- Alan Turnbull: It goes on to say that ‘he indicated that the DVD portrayed a video with dancers dressed as Elizabeth short. When he explained, for my benefit, that Elizabeth Short was known as the Black Dhalia and had been a good actress and had been found dead by the side of the road with traumatic incision of (sic) injuries, these were across her face, across her abdomen and chunks of flesh had been removed from her chin and left breast. Luke Mitchell stated that he had not had any knowledge of Elizabeth Short until he had accessed this information via a website. He states that he did this after the death of Jodi Jones’
- Corinne Mitchell: Yes
- Alan Turnbull: Now had you seen the DVD that went with the Marilyn Manson CD?
- Corinne Mitchell: Some of it (incomprehensible) I don’t like Marilyn Manson
- Alan Turnbull: Yes. It’s just the notion that it portrays dancers dressed as Elizabeth Short that I’m interested in. Did you see that on the bit that you saw?

- Alan Turnbull: Have you by any chance seen another Marilyn Manson video that accompanied the single from that CD, where the dancers had sort of uniforms on and a mark painted up the side of their face as if it was showing some sort of split in their cheek?
- Corinne Mitchell: No. But as I say I don’t like Marilyn Manson so don’t watch any (incomprehensible)
- Alan Turnbull: Alright. But you see I’m looking at the reference here to dancers dressed as Elizabeth Short. And it would appear that this is something that Luke has told Dr Campbell about?
- Corinne Mitchell: Yes
- Alan Turnbull: And has explained to Dr Campbell that he found the information about Elizabeth Short via a website?
- Corinne Mitchell: Yes it says that here
- Alan Turnbull: Do you know where he did that?
- Corinne Mitchell: No
- Alan Turnbull: Would it have been at your house?
- Corinne Mitchell: Possibly, I don’t understand (sic) so I don’t know. More than likely his fathers
- Alan Turnbull: Was there a computer still working and available in your house after the police came to take things away in early July?
- Corinne Mitchell: No, there was nothing there
- Alan Turnbull: Okay. So it couldn’t really have been in your house if it was?
- Corinne Mitchell: Unless it was Shane, if Shane got his laptop back. I doubt that he would have used Shane’s laptop so it was possibly at his fathers
- Alan Turnbull: Right. Because Luke’s explaining here that although he accessed this website, he did it after the death of Jodi
- Corinne Mitchell: Yes
- Alan Turnbull: Right. But between Jodi’s death, on the 4th July there would be a computer in your house but not afterwards?

Of the August 14th raid on the Mitchell home, one officer said in a statement that he was told to look specifically for anything Manson related.

As previously pointed out in Part 260 of this ongoing blog series (which can be read by tapping on the button below) killer Luke Mitchell’s trousers were found hidden in a bag in his home in Newbattle abbey crescent NOT at his father Philip Mitchell’s house in Livingston;;
The trousers in question were seized on the 4th July 2003 and to date it is not clear whether or not blood was found on said trousers.

Furthermore there is no evidence anywhere to suggest innocent Steven Kelly’s blood was found anywhere at killer Luke Mitchell’s crime scene or on any clothing seized from his crime scene;

Killer Luke Mitchell: What Mother Sends Their Almost 15 Year Old Child Out To Take Their Dog For A Walk At 10:45pm Alone When A 14 Year Old Girl Is Known To Be “Missing”? (Part 314)
Corinne Mitchell stated her killer son Luke Mitchell arrived home at around 9:00pm on the 30th June 2003 and then took her dog Mia out for a walk at around 9:40pm.

No they took… he got the text message from Jodi while he was out with the dog, because he came back very shortly after he went out
They could have got a telephone call I’m not sure
I can’t remember if its a phone call or a text he got when he was out, it was one of the two
As far as I can recall, I thought he got the text message when he was out and that’s why he came back earlier

Below is what killer Luke Mitchell told the police, just a couple of hours after he had led Steven Kelly, Alice Walker and Janine Jones to his crime scene:

David High’s trial testimony has not yet been published, therefore it’s not clear if there was evidence of a call between him and killer Luke Mitchell later that evening when the killer was on his way home.
However David High left to go home at around 8:05pm as his curfew time was at 8:30pm.
David Tulloch said that he and another lad went home at about 9:00pm.
Killer Luke Mitchell went on to tell the police that David Tulloch “chummed” him part of the way home.
David Tulloch’s trial testimony has also not yet been published but below is what killer Luke Mitchell told the police;
I went home and my mum was in and I think Shane was in as well
I went to my room to listen to music and watch a video
After I’d phoned David earlier I phoned my mum to ask her if Jodi had been to the house yet
She said no
I asked her to give me a call if Jodi came to the house

His second call was at 6:54pm in which to told David he would instead meet him at the abbey.
Killer Luke Mitchell telephoned his home landline at 6:39pm.
Killer Luke Mitchell went on to tell the police;
When I was in my room about twenty past, half past ten and got a text message from her mums phone saying
Right, Jodi, you’re in big trouble for being late’
Her mum (inaudible). I phoned Jodi’s mum right back and told her Jodi wasn’t with me
Her mum sounded shocked and I said ‘Where is she’
As far as she knew, she was on her way to see me
Her mum said she would phone her Gran and her sister to check upShe hung up

Killer Luke Mitchell did not telephone Judith Jones until 10:43pm.
His account of taking Mia the dog out for a walk does not match with the 9:40pm time his mother had stated he took Mia out for a walk.
Killer Luke Mitchell also stated;
When I was out I got another call from Jodi’s mum
She was crying and saying that Jodi hasn’t been seen since she left the house about six o’clock

After Judith Jones’ text message and after his 10:43pm call, the evidence shows that Judith Jones then called the killer at 10:49pm.
How many mothers send their almost 15 year old children out to take their dog for a walk at around 10:45pm at night, when it is known another 14 year old child is “missing”?

Dean Houston “occasionally” cycled to school with killer Luke Mitchell, he was a fellow pupil at the same school as the killer
Most frustrating and especially as all three appeared as witnesses on the same day.

Why do you think the killer and his lawyers didn’t obtain trial transcripts for witnesses like Grant Elliott and Dean Houston?
To request an actual transcript from scratch, if possible, could be extremely expensive, obviously depending on how much work was involved.
Quoting the Scottish Courts web site:
“The cost of transcribing is £91.23 per hour or £1.52 per minute, plus VAT”.
I shall personally ask for a quote though.

Trial testimony of the productions of killer Luke Mitchell’s mobile telephone records will most probably be able to establish whether or not the killer made a call, like Dean Houston’s evidence suggested he may have done
This is part of a longer section, in which various sightings of Luke and his clothing are compared.
Point being, this apparently relates to the cyclists and there is no known, supporting evidence that Luke was seen by them, wearing his green bomber jacket.

Andrina Bryson didn’t suggest killer Luke Mitchell was dressed to go fishing, her description was what she perceived his parka reminded her of

Incidentally, I was wondering what Sandra Lean had remarked concerning the fact that Luke had met up with friends, David High and David Tulloch, plus one other, circa 7 p.m. and they had smoked cannabis in the grounds of Newbattle College, eventually making their way to the ‘Tarzan’ swing, past Luke’s house.

The estimated time when killer Luke Mitchell arrived at the abbey does not appear to have been reported on
What time did David High, David Tullock and the other lad estimate there was a heavy downpour of rain?
And at what time did Alan Turnbull calculate this heavy downpour occurred?
The timings of the heavy downpour of rain that evening is something the police would have established very early on during their investigation
At 10:38pm, while he was taking his dog…”.
Sandra Lean omits the drug taking component entirely.

Another relevant fact being that Corinne Mitchell’s evidence was that her killer son had taken her dog out for a walk at around 9:40pm
Nonetheless, there is nothing seemingly untoward in Luke doing so, if he presumed Jodi was not turning up, for whatever reason.

This (when he got to the abbey) was more than likely the first time the killer had had a chance for his drug taking since the lunchtime
He had been busy attempting to put an alibi in place, changing his clothes and washing his face and hands etc
Indeed, if guilty of having just killed Jodi, it would be a ‘cold hearted murder’, personified.

Who did the people Mr Fuller may have told about the planned visit to Kenmore tell?

What did the witnesses who saw Jodi Jones at school that day say she was wearing?
Also the evidence suggests Jodi Jones may have been running late, hence killer Luke Mitchell’s impatient call to the speaking clock at 4:54pm
There is zero evidence that Jodi Jones “took a pathway through woodlands” alone!
Andrina Bryson did not see Jodi Jones on the “pathway of the woodlands” and Jodi Jones was banned from using the pathway alone!
All those people who knew Jodi Jones best said she would not have used that path alone!
Alas, Jodi’s body was discovered close by, later that night, by Luke himself, perhaps aided by his alsatian, who was being trained for tracking.

It was Steven Kelly who first “discovered” Jodi Jones’ body at around 11:30pm on the 30th June 2003 after killer Luke Mitchell pretended he had “found something”
There is zero evidence sadistic murderer Luke Mitchell went anywhere near his crime scene (other than just behind the V break in the wall) after leaving it some time after he had committed his murder earlier in the evening (See all trial testimony – including the three witnesses who were with the killer)
The “Jodi’s body was discovered close by, later that night, by Luke himself” trope is what the killer pretended had happened.

Killer Luke Mitchell became a suspect by 3rd July 2003
As by then, 16-years-old, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, with the possibility of parole, after serving 20 years.
However, due to the fact Luke Mitchell maintains his innocence, parole is not a likely possibility.

There is evidence he carried more than one knife, there is also evidence he drunk alcohol and there is evidence of allegations of previous knife attacks on young girls

A knife sheath found in his bedroom had a memorial to Jodi, “[Name removed] – 1989 – 2003”, a quote from her favourite Nirvana lyrics, “THE FINEST DAY I EVER HAD WAS WHEN TOMORROW NEVER CAME’ and also featured “‘666” on both sides of the sheath.

Where did killer Luke Mitchell hide this particular knife sheath (Jack Pyke) between 30th June 2003 to 14th April 2004?
The brown wooden handled Jack Pyke knife, which would usually be kept in the Jack Pyke leather knife sheath went missing sometime after killer Luke Mitchell committed his murder
He also had another girlfriend and neither knew about the other. Although his other girlfriend lived 92 miles away and they had met on holiday, Luke regularly phoned her and had already scheduled to visit her on Saturday 5 July and possibly stay for a few days – the school summer holidays had just began.

Not “possibly stay” – the holiday (Corinne Mitchell’s) and “visit” (killer Luke Mitchell’s) was booked and planned to begin on the 5th July 2003
There is also evidence to suggest that killer Luke Mitchell may have been targetting other girls at the same time he was targeting Jodi Jones and Kimberly Thomson
This was, of course, planned for the weekend after Jodi’s murder.
However.. and it is enormous…
There is no actual hard-core evidence, linking Luke to the crime itself.

What do you define as “hard core evidence”?
There is no actual evidence pointing towards anyone else other than killer Luke Mitchell (again read all trial transcripts from start to finish)
There is no DNA evidence and Luke was seen after the presumed time of death, with no noticeable traces of bloodstained clothing.

There was undated, circumstantial DNA evidence
An agreement was made between the crow, the killer and his defence team that because the pair were in an “intimate relationship”, undated, circumstantial DNA could not advance the case
Why would killer Luke Mitchell have been seen with “noticeable traces of bloodstained clothing” by anyone other than possibly by his mother Corinne Mitchell and/or brother Shane Mitchell?
And who walks or drives around looking for people wearing “noticeable traces of bloodstained clothing”?
Additionally, he met up with friends shortly after the assumed time of death.

David Tullock was a friend of David High’s not killer Luke Mitchell as far as it is known

5 people saw him in places he claimed not to have been, whilst no one saw him at those times anywhere else.
If he is in those other places then he is clearly not home, and why should we believe he was hanging around the entrance of the estate, when he was seen elsewhere but not there?
The ever changing story from three people from the same house.

I have no idea why you doubt Jodi being home, or school for that matter.
There has never been any doubt placed here, not by the school, the police, the crown, the defence.
Why would that be?
Her friend speaking to her before she got on the school bus, seen by others on the bus.
Seen getting off the bus, seen by a neighbour going past their house.
One 40-year-old, who did not want to be named, said: “This has come as a horrific shock to everyone who lives in the area.
“I saw Jodi on her way back from school on Monday afternoon and she walked past my house looking like she didn’t have a care in the world.

Using her mothers phone to make contact with Luke Mitchell.
Seen by Allen Ovens and then hearing the door go and no Jodi there anymore.
I guess and correctly – That it was a case of information being checked over and it checked out from Jodi’s family.
Not so much the Mitchell family.
Then tie in those sightings.
But it is also how things tied together when being checked out.
Jodi’s mother. We know there had still been a punishment in place, it was not only her mothers word taken for this.
We know that Jodi had been restricted until around 6pm on school nights.
There was nothing in phone logs, nothing produced to show anything other than arrangements being made at school, meetings for the evening, whilst Jodi’s phone was broken.
That day was different.
We see the punishment had been lifted and we see Jodi made contact with Luke Mitchell.
We can apply (and the crown did) that due to a change in circumstance, contact needed to be made, to bring any meeting forward.
We can see he was the only person she made contact with, she had no means to contact anyone else after leaving home.
We can see that when she was ready to leave home her mother held her back a few minutes, listening to some song.
We can apply she was then running late and we had Luke Mitchell call the speaking clock.
When I was in my room about twenty past, half past ten and got a text message from her mums phone saying ‘Right, Jodi, you’re in big trouble for being late’
