Also as part of his futile attempt to suggest Simon Hall’s confession to his murder of Joan Albert was false, Michael Naughton stated;

Simon was on suicide watch and he was taking every drug he could get.

As already pointed out in various Parts of the The Truth Behind Killer Simon Hall & His Enablers #InnocenceFraud Phenomenon Scam blog series, Simon Hall’s factual guilt to his murder of Joan Albert began to unravel by the end of 2012 and his confession to his murder of Joan Albert was protracted and comprehensive and told to many people.

Simon Hall was not taking every drug he could get as falsely claimed by Michael Naughton.

Although Simon Hall did state in an October 2013 letter that he had contacted five people (Including Pauline, Karen, Ray, Ian (B) and Phoebe) and claimed he told them he had confessed because he had given up and blamed it on drugs, as can be seen in the reproduced excerpt below;

It is not known if Michael Naughton was ever told about any of the letter Simon Hall sent to Ray, Ian (B) or Phoebe but Simon was again attempting to manipulate these people with yet more lies.

Alon Aviram’s following excerpts are further evidence Alon did not have a clue what he was writing about (and further evidence he hadn’t bothered to investigate) and suggest Alon also did not understand the fact that Simon Hall did get a hearing before the court of appeal which was heard over three days in December 2010;

In 2007, years before these findings and Hall’s failed appeal, the BBC’s Rough Justice had him on to discuss the case. Another talking head was a man by the name of Keir Starmer, a defence barrister at Doughty Street Chambers. 

At a preview screening, Naughton took offence at the future Labour leader’s defence of the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) and called him “a numpty”. Michael believed that the miscarriages watchdog, which screens requests to the Court of Appeal, was warding off challenges to convictions. He feared Hall’s case wouldn’t get a hearing before the Court of Appeal. “I got up and walked off to the nearest pub…and I was proved right.”

And if Michael Naughton was proved right it may have been to do with the court of appeal judges decision to uphold Simon Hall’s murder conviction, not that Simon Hall wouldn’t get a hearing.

Daniel Dale’s Killers Innocence Fraud

The one murder conviction referred to by Alon Aviram in the below excerpt was 18 year old Daniel Dale’s killer;

The Innocence Network couldn’t hide from the fact that its record for overturning convictions was slim from 2005-2014: only one murder conviction overturned, by the Cardiff University team.

Innocence fraudster Dwaine “I just want to get on with my life now” George aka Ibraheem Abdullah aka Tenderpasta was arrested in March 2021 after cocaine worth £1.6m was seized in Manchester as part of Operation Venetic (Read more here and here).

Dwaine George had the same solicitor who helped Simon Hall with his deceptive ‘Guittard’ applicatio. David McCorkle can be read about in Part 10a here.

Alon Aviram also stated;

In 2014 Michael disbanded the umbrella group Innocence Network UK. But it had already exposed that the CCRC was not fit for purpose.

If Michael Naughton believed the criminal cases review commission (CCRC) were ‘not fit for purpose’ why did he keep quiet about the fact they were seen to magic away a crucial and ‘main plank’ of the prosecutions case against Simon Hall namely the Hall family’s concoctions. Alon Aviram finished his article by stating;

Now, Michael and a small team at Bristol University are preparing to launch a slimmer and more focused project, taking lessons from the trials of its previous incarnation.

Empowering the Innocent is a targeted campaign calling for the urgent reform of the CCRC. “Miscarriages of justice are not rare and exceptional,” Michael says. There is a need for a systemic overhaul of the watchdog which is supposed to serve as a safety net for the wrongly convicted.

The team hopes to review a small number of cases that have been rejected for appeal by the CCRC. And in doing so, demonstrate that the grounds by which the watchdog determines the fate of a prisoner to challenge their conviction, are deeply flawed and unjust. “We might not overturn these cases, but we will show what the fault lines are.”

One of the cases that had been rejected for appeal by the CCRC was that of Diana Garbutt’s killer. Neil Wilby has written a series of blogs on Robin Garbutt’s innocence fraud, one of which can be read here.

Deluded Jack Adams

I was with Michael at the High Court in London when Hall’s appeal case was rejected by Lord Judge (yes, there is a judge called Lord Judge). Any competent reading of the evidence against Hall or subsequent investigation of the evidence which was “not investigated or presented” leads to the conclusion that the conviction was deeply unsafe. I was staggered by hearing Lord Judge say that the case remained ‘compelling’ when the sole foundation of conviction, the fibre evidence, had been demonstrated not just to be inaccurate but scientifically factually wrong. There can be no sustainable intellectual support for an appeal system that acts in this manner. Even for a man of Michael Naughton’s strength and determination, that judgement spoke to a certain futility in challenging the process. Change can only come when honesty of purpose and the integrity Michael possesses are sitting on the bench.

It is not known what evidence Jack Adams was referring to when he stated ‘the evidence which was “not investigated or presented” leads to the conclusion that the conviction was deeply unsafe’ or when (if ever) he read all of the evidence ‘not investigated or presented’.

Abuser, Fraudster & Liar Michelle Diskin Bates & Her Double Binds & Twisted Reciprocal Relationships

What an interesting article, thank you for writing this.
Fighting for innocent people…against a flawed justice system should not fall to a few members of the public. Personally, I’ve been working alongside others for more than twenty years, highlighting cases that need to be looked at and hopefully overturned, and supporting those hurt and damaged families.
My own brother was a miscarriage of justice, which is how I became involved. He was wrongly convicted of the 1999 murder of Jill Dando.

Michelle Bates – 13th March 2021

Michelle Bates Aka Michelle Diskin Bates is the sister of Jill Dando’s killer, sexual predator and prolific stalker of woman Barry George. Michael Naughton wrote the foreword to Michelle Diskin Bate book which was published in 2018 and refers to killer Barry George and Michelle Diskin’s innocence fraud campaign.

It was no surprise when toxic abuser, fraudster and liar Michelle Diskin Bates thanked Alon Aviram for writing his article.

Following the exposure of Simon Hall’s factual guilt to his murder and the media stories which followed, Michelle Diskin Bates also made a statement at the foot of an article published in September 2013. Michelle stated;

..the Simon Hall confession is a concern because it is already so difficult for true MOJs to be believed by the public; this confession damages the credibility of all those still fighting for justice.
